About

Parkland Home Educators Association (PHEA) is a cooperative Christian support group serving homeschooling families in the Parkland County area and the broader Parkland Christian community for over 50 years. As a fellowship of families committed to Christ-centered education, we base our policies, practices, and relationships on biblical principles, taking Scripture as our moral and spiritual guide.

As homeschooling parents, we come together with the shared goal of supporting one another in the important calling of educating and discipling our children. Our purpose is not only to encourage and equip parents, but also to provide opportunities for educational, social, and spiritual growth for our children. Throughout the year, we offer a variety of activities including a gym program, field trips, special events, and group gatherings that strengthen relationships and enrich the homeschooling journey. Membership in our group is supported through an annual fee.

Our Values

Supremacy of God
PHEA affirms that God is sovereign over all creation, and we seek to honour Him in every aspect of our community and educational efforts.

Parents as Primary Educators
We believe parents have the God-given right and responsibility to direct the education of their children, and we exist to support them in that role.

The Family Unit
We uphold the traditional family—one husband, one wife, and their children—as God’s design and the foundation of a strong and stable society.

Children as Disciples
We value children as gifts from God and recognize their need for loving discipleship within the family.

Government in Its Proper Role
We acknowledge that government is instituted by God to serve the people. We believe its involvement in education should be exercised in the least intrusive manner, allowing parents freedom to fulfill their responsibilities.

Education as Lifelong Formation
We see education as more than the acquisition of knowledge; it is the lifelong formation of character, faith, and wisdom.
