About

About PHEA

Parkland Home Educators Association (PHEA) is a Christ-centred cooperative support group serving homeschooling families in the Parkland County area for over 50 years. We are a fellowship of families united by a shared faith and a shared calling — to educate and disciple our children in a way that honours God.

We are a volunteer-run organization. Our strength comes from families supporting families — sharing resources, encouragement, and friendship throughout the homeschooling journey.

Our Values

Supremacy of God
PHEA affirms that God is sovereign over all creation, and we seek to honour Him in every aspect of our community and educational efforts.

Parents as Primary Educators
We believe parents have the God-given right and responsibility to direct the education of their children, and we exist to support them in that role.

The Family Unit
We uphold the traditional family as God's design and the foundation of a strong and stable society.

Children as Disciples
We value children as gifts from God and recognize their need for loving discipleship within the family.

Education as Lifelong Formation
We see education as more than the acquisition of knowledge — it is the lifelong formation of character, faith, and wisdom.

What We Believe

We believe the Bible is the inspired word of God and is our supreme and final authority. (2 Timothy 3:16–17)

We believe in one God, eternally existing as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. (2 Corinthians 13:14)

We believe Jesus Christ is the Son of God, born of a virgin, who died on the cross for our sins, rose from the dead, and ascended to heaven. (Luke 1:34–35, 1 Peter 2:24, 1 Corinthians 15:3–4)

We believe in the personal return of Jesus Christ for His Church. (John 14:3, 1 Thessalonians 4:16–17)

We believe Jesus Christ is the only way to salvation. (John 14:6, Acts 4:12)

We believe in life after death — either with God or separated from God. (Matthew 25:46)

"You shall teach them diligently to your children." — Deuteronomy 6:7
